What up people...haven't blogged in a minute...been thinking lately about different people's ideas on what makes an album classic...figure we can use this as a way to dicuss/debate/argue lol whatever...so anyway I'll just get to what I personally think makes an album classic...
It's hard for me to call an album classic that just came out this year, or even the past 2 or 3 years, I feel like a classic is something that becomes timeless, so 5-10 years from now u put it in and it sounds like the first time hearing it.And for me its gotta hit me on all levels from the beats, to the lyrics, to the flow, to the delivery etc...but lately I've seen a lot of people call albums classics even days after they've released/leaked onto the internet, so it makes me wonder now what do people need for an album to be classic?
Is it about half the album dope, just dope beats? A couple big singles? Does EVERY song have to hit you? Does sequencing play a role for you or does it have just make you move or does it have to stimulate some thought? Let me know people... (also let know of some albums you feel are classic in the last ten years and why...peaceeee)

Trust is a very important thing in a relationship. Sometimes more important than love. I notice that a lot of people who are affluent marry for business purposes and because they trust that significant other and see what that person can contribute to the cause and the growth of a brand rather than love. To quote a very famous song, whats love got to do wit it? Do you follow your heart even when it may very well lead you to a place where you are stifled or marry for power. Someone who is like minded and goal oriented and would push you to be a better person and more well rounded? The more I work in this industry the more I see the appeal of power over love. Chris rock had a joke that new pussy cant cook, but when you read into that statement you notice the implication of that. Do you really follow your heart or follow your heart of hearts? Stay with a person for love or stay with a person who can bring something to the table that you need? Is that being with each other working together for a common goal or just using each other to get to where you wanna be? Love don't pay bills and new pussy cant cook... So which is healthy, a relationship that might further both people or love that might be a big but and a smile..lol so what she fine as shit and can make a mean sandwich or he remembers your birthday and slings that thing, what about everything else?

Man... let's call a spade a spade that was easily one of the worst Bet Award Shows in the history of the show from top to bottom. DL Hughley was horrible, Usher seemed washed up and a step slow... Hell, all I can remember is Alicia Keys bringin all the past girl groups back which was hot (did anybody notice how short A Keys arms are??), the waterfall Chris Brown had was hot (his performance was better than Usher, and I'm personally in a state of wtf b/c of that) and that's all I remember. Out of 3.5 hours that's what BET put together for us, huh??? WOW... I mean, did anybody like this impostor award show?? And if you like it, I might have to come to your job or home and slap you sternly so that you feel my angst lol... I'm just serious...

After careful thought, one reason I do not have a serious relationship because there are too many takers who are parasites and leach off my shine. Im pretty brilliant. My light shines because I work hard daily to be a better man spiritually, mentally, and sometimes but not as much as I should physically. Because that light beams, it attracts others and draws them in. Thats cool, but beware of the parasites. Some just wanna run that stention cord from across the building but they gotta get they on source of power. You cant be a generator for an abandoned factory. I CAN'T FEEL MY LEGS!!!
So I got to work super early today so that I could leave @ 4pm on the dot b/c we have a show tonight and I didn't want to be at work for not a minute longer than I had to be today. We had a long night of rehearsing last night and quite frankly, I didn't get enough sleep so I had the ingenious idea of going to sleep in the bathroom for an hour to catch up on some zzzzzzs... THIS MIGHT HAVE SINGLE HANDEDLY BEEN THE WORST DECISION MADE IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND!! So I go in the stall and post up on the toilet like I'm takin a sh*t to get my sleep on. Needless to say, I fell asleep for about a good 30 mins but when I woke up... I COULDN'T FEEL MY DAMN LEGS!!! My legs was dead asleep almost to the point where I was paralyzed!! I SWEAR I almost cried cuz I'm thinkin I'm gon be stuck in this bathroom for the rest of my life b/c I could not move my legs at all (no exaggeration!) So somehow thru the grace of Jesus I was able to stand up, but my legs wasn't working still, and I leaned against the wall of the stall hoping that the blood would get back to my legs and everything would be cool. NO!! My sh*t was hot and tingly for a good 20 minutes and I am just now gettin back to my desk to tell my story. So the moral of this story is "GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT KIDS B/C SLEEPING IN BATHROOM STALLS IS NOT THE BUSINESS"PS I'm laughin now but I ain't never been so scared in my life!!!

OK.. NOW WE ALL HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN GOING ON IN OUR CITY AS FAR AS VIOLENCE GOES... BUT AS THE YEAR GOES BY IT SEEMS TO GET WORSE. OVER THIS WEEKEND, I WAS IN MY OLD NEIGHBORHOOD, I WAS TALKIN TO A FRIEND OF MINE... HER COUSIN WAS SHOT AND KILLED, SO I STOPPED BY TO OFFER MY SUPPORT, WHILE OVER THERE SHE GOT A PHONE CALL AND SOMEONE ELSE SHE KNEW WAS SHOT DOWN AND KILLED. IN THAT SAM STROKE I FOUND OUT MY SISTER WAS CAUGHT IN A DRIVE-BY SATURDAY IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. HER FRIEND PUSHED HER DOWN AND SHIELDED HER AND HE WAS SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES, AS WELL AS 4 OTHER PEOPLE INCLUDING A BABY... A DAMN BABY. THEN I WAKE UP THIS MORNING TO THE NEWS AND FIND OUT SOMETHING HAPPENED WHERE A DUDE WAS DRIVING ALL CRAZY AND HIT 6 PEOPLE IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN 2 OF WHICH DIED... AND SOME OF THESE WERE CHILDREN. AS WELL AS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT REPORT ANOTHER REPORT CAME THROUGH WHERE A 17 YR OLD GIRL IN MAYWOOD WAS SHOT IN THE HEAD... AND ALL THIS OVER THE WEEKEND... AND THAT'S JUST WHAT I HEARD ABOUT. NOT TO MENTION ALL THE CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOL KIDS WHO HAVE BEEN GETTING MURDERED ALL YEAR. MICHAEL VS. PRINCE
Michael was a bad boy in his day! Prince is a musical genius! Who was/is the best?? Pound for pound who was the King of that time? Prince has more albums and his shows were off the chain. Mike had less albums but his earlier albums were classics and can still be played to this very day and his concerts were an event in themselves (I was lucky enough to go to the Bad Tour back in the 80s when it came to the "Rosemont Horizon", Allstate Arena for the newbies). Both of their legacies can be found in the newer R&B cats of today but yesterday I was listening to both of their music and Prince got some sh*t, but Mike.... "Off the Wall", "Thriller", and "Bad"??? The man was on another level! So the question of the day is, if you could only pick one, who would you pick???
