Yo... Do ya'll remember how insanely dope Confessions was?? I mean... it was prolly like a modern day Thriller b/c just about every song on it was off the chain. But then... he put out that Here I Stand album damn near 4 years later and I think it's safe to say it was wack... And in that 4 years what happened?? He got married... So my question is this; did marriage kill Usher's career??

Personally, I think Usher’s ‘fag-swag’ killed him… dead. Let’s be real, when Confessions came out, I was wondering if he was gonna confess and come out the closet… what else would you leave Chili (no homo) and why would Chili’s only explanation of they aren’t together anymore is because Usher did ‘the ultimate No-No’??
Maybe marriage did kill Usher, cause if you ask me, Tamika’s real name is Tyrone.
I don't know if it killed his career...but I do know Confessions aint no modern day Thriller!!

I think Usher tried to make a "grown up" album, but failed. I don't think he had as much buzz for this album as he did for Confessions. And personally, I think 8701 was the hottest Usher album of them all! Anyway, he needs to get back to dancing and get some real buzz...Not this "I'm getting married and having kids crap" every famous person tries to pull these days when they have an album/movie/clothing line coming out. Maybe next he is going to try the rehab trick :P
haha to Rayna and the rehab...but yes Confessions was legendary...it had to be cuz I am not an Usher fan and that was the only cd I would listen to over and over and over...It wasn't the fact that he got married, cuz lots of stars get married, it's the fact that it was so public..thats what killed him. Nariah (nick and mariah) are next if they're not dead already...

I agree with Al and the all women fan base...i think that Usher's album is ok if u are a GROWN UP (different from being just grown lol), settled in your own crib, workin on a family, in your career and shit like that. if you're not in that position then that type of music won't appeal to u. and Confessions was DEF the shit, i heart 8701 too, and he was on his younger shit then. he's just matured now and he tried a lil too hard to prove that.
Nope. Beyonce got married. Her career isn't over. Jay-Z got married his career isn't over.
But T, think about it....Beyonce tried soooo hard to conceal that wedding...and they don't talk about it publicly, unlike Ursher, Nariah, and Pony man...and all those other has beens....
