I don't know if we can whittle the cause down to soley either or. I know some people are born a little different, with different urges and inclinations, and to a large degree being gay is not a choice for people.

On the other hand, if people had equal, unbiased exposure to straight and homosexual influences, I think naturally, there would be WAY more gay people.

STILL...I think to a greater degree, NATURE determines sexuality. Everything is chemical right? Emotions, feelings, love, attraction...

Hard question, I can't bring myself to a definite answer lol

Why would God give some1 homosexual tendencies, when it's an abomination to him?! I think it's a learned behavior. Little boys act like girls when younger because they momma's, aunties and sisters been playin patty cake and double dutch with them...I say stop that shit! Just cuz daddy ain't around don't mean you can't read a car fixin book for dummies and teach him how to fix a tire and change the oil or somethin...

LMAO @ Mi$$ J.

I don't think you are "born" gay, but I do think that there can be genetic glitches, so to speak, where a person born in a boy body can have a girl mentality. Just think about all of the genetic disorders that are out there and the instances where some babies are born with male and female reproductive systems.

These girls running around kissing other girls all in the mouth is ridiculous. They're not born gay, they just need attention!

Ade, why do you think there would be WAY more gay people? And as I am thinking about it, can we even really get an accurate count on gays now?? I'm sure there are a lot of ppl that still hide their sexuality so I dont think we can ever say or know if there would be more or less gay ppl

I knw this is old, but...

In our society, homosexuality is taboo, outside of our norms. Naturally, we're all exposed to a heterosexual influences in society more so than gay influences. Turn on the tv, look at ads, movies, music, every part of culture has a hetero focus for the most part. I'm saying, looking at civilizations in history where homosexuality was accepted ( ancient greece for example) it's a fact that the norms that society dictates decides to a large degree how we view taboos, sexuality etc. I just think that if we had a society like ancient greece, that there would naturally be more openly gay people. That's an obvious assumption, i think. And becuz we don't have such a society, we will never be able to really gauge if being gay is a choice or not, not when its so deeply ingrained in our society that same-sex relationships are wrong. I'm sure there are people with subtle urges that they never act on, EVER in life. There are slightly curious people who will never admit it, EVER, and will never do anything gay, despite their urges. The psychological effects of the stigma is undeniable.

And i correct myself now, I should have said openly gay in the 1st post becuz theres no gay census haha.
