I don't even think it would be close...Aaliyah didnt have no ass! Seriously, I think B would have over-shadowed her...Aaliyah was beautiful, but I don't think she had the cross-over appeal Beyonce has...I mean, she was doin roles with CrackMan X...B doin roles with Oscar winners...and to be truthful that last album was wack with the exception of "Rock the Boat"...Beyonce batting 1000 with her 2 album releases...did I mention she had a big ass???

Aaliyah's last official album when she was here was on point, and 'Rock the Boat' made it even that much harder! Aaliyah would have evolved in this industry alot better than B. Aaliyah was Gorgeous!!! But she had the body of a 12 yr old boy! No ass, no hips, as far as breast go she was a str8 A student! And if Aaliyah had'nt died that album would have flopped! Can anybody name a song off that album besides "Rock the Boat"? She was a way better dancer than B, not performer but better dancer...

I gotta agree with Taryn on this one. Beyonce is that chick, she is the hottest thing out right now. You have to respect her hustle, drive, ability, etc. But listen to Aaliyah's last CD. Try to put a date on it. Her music does not fit into any decade. She was rocking out before it got popular. And I don't know the names to all the songs on the CD, but I can sing almost ALL the words! I played the hell out that CD! Lol I had it on bootleg, and I went and still went and bought it.
Bottom line is, Beyonce has the body, the voice, the moves, the appeal. She is the Macy's of the game. She got something for everyone and has yet to miss. Aaliyah is like that store you love going to that most people don't know about. But you always find at least one thing you can really appreciate.

I think Aaliyah and B are in two different categories. Aaliyah was strictly R&B, Beyonce is extremely pop. I think they could have co-existed.
A better comparison would have been to ask if Ciara would be around if Aaliyah was alive and the clear answer is know. Ciara would have been to Aaliyah what Letoya Luckett is now to Beyonce... no threat at all.

Aaliyah is definitely better in my opinion ok she might not have been rolling around on stage and screaming at the top of her lungs trying to say she was "singing" but Aaliyah had a voice its not like she couldn't sing at all There are more than a few songs that showcase her true vocal talent so some of you need to to so some research. I'm not taking anything away from Beyonce, but Aaliyah left a void that just can't be filled she actually made people feel like they knew her just by watching her on tv she was elegant and had all around class and she never overexposed herself she made the public miss her every now and then and when she came back they were ready for anything she put out.Ugh, who cares whose body is better? this is about talent. If you didn't like her last album that's on you but that album was very different and everything Aaliyah did was ahead of its time. Beyonce is still giving us teeny bopper songs but yet she wants to be an "icon" talking about she's retiring at 30 well you don't have that much longer sweetie and I doubt you'll be an icon by then if you're giving us the same formula you've been giving year after year Next.
