WEST COAST IN THE HOUSE!!! GO LAKERS, BUT KOBE CAN GO KILL HIMSELF!

Let me start off by saying that I am NOT a Kobe 'HATER,' but Kobe can go kick rocks and blow bubbles. The NBA finals is about the best TEAM in the NBA. I think we grasped the concept in elementry that there is no 'I' in 'TEAM,' therefore, there is no TEAM called the LA Lakers... instead, there's A LAKER. If you're such a GREAT player, then why doesn't your whole team display the same type of athleticism? The CELTICS (plural... as in a whole team) have worked very hard to get where they are, AS A TEAM. Anyone who's rooting for the LAKER (singular) is just on Kobe's jock. CELTICS ALL DAY BABY!

Ok Taryn but Kobe doesn't even play like he used to anymore. He actually plays a lot like Michael Jordan in the late 90s. He actually does make his teammates better now. He did win MVP this year and he has always been the best player for awhile now but its because he made his team better this year that he got MVP. The Lakers weren't even supposed to be the top seed in the West this year. They got the same team as last year with the addition of Gasol and Fisher so Kobe did something, right???

I agree with Pennjamin... but my blackness doesn't permit me to want the Lakers to win... at first I favored them... then I tought I really want K.G. To get a ring... he deserves it. He is one of the most solid players the league has seen. And to call a spade a spade... the Lakers can only lock up a few people, if Paul Pierce comes out for the kill its a wrap... cause they might try to hold him, but then K.G. Busts loose and don't let Ray Allen get into Jesus Shuttlesworth zone!

No, Kobe did NOTHING and yes, Kobe still plays the same. Kobe's been in the game since, what... '96?? What has Kobe done other than TRY his hardest to only out-do Jordan? You can't compare Kobe to Jordan. Don't get me wrong, Kobe is a good player, but Kobe is also a selfish player, which is the reason why he's a GOOD player and not a GREAT player. He only thinks of how to make himself look good and doesn't care about the performance of his overall team. He doesn't think about his team. He's only trying to make a point that he doesn't need Shaq to win the finals, but in reality, he can't and WON'T do it on his own.

Taryn, how can you say that??? Lol Believe me I was the ultimate Kobe hater before and I do think he wants to be Mike but c'mon... how can u hate on a man scoring 81pts in a game? Secondly, where would the Lakers be without Kobe. Finally, if Kobe was the selfish player he once was they wouldn't even be in the Finals. He would have tried to avg 50 in the playoffs. If I'm not mistaken his avgs are very Mike-like. 30pts 6rebs and 6asts. Pretty good to me...

t baby June 3, 2008 at 11:02 AM

HA! Kobe made it to the playoffs during the peak of his selfishness! And it's EASY to hate on a man who scored 81pts in a game... just like this... allow me to show u...

HOW MANY POINTS DID EVERYONE ELSE SCORE???????

Thank you...

Pennjamin Bannekar June 3, 2008 at 11:05 AM

OK so what did you say when Jordan used to drop 50 on ppl?? I know I was sayin "he the coldest"... so how can it be different for Kobe?? What if it was Lebron DWade or Carmelo that got 81... would it be different then??

"jordan as selfish as kobe was period, and I watched every bulls game every day on wgn religiously. I remember scottie complaining about jordans shot selection all of that, he got called ball hog all of that and iverson takes more shots than kobe any day
except for like that one season"

Pennjamin Bannekar June 3, 2008 at 11:33 AM

Taryn, you should just come on over into the light before Kobe retires then we wont have nobody who reminds us of Mike... maybe Lebron but only cuz he wears #23.. he will never be that good.

t baby June 3, 2008 at 11:55 AM

I hope Kobe does retire! We're not supposed to have anybody that reminds us of Mike. Mike is his own person and his own player. Yea, I remember when people called Mike a ball hog, and I'm not saying Jordan was not a selfish player at one point in time, but he was NEVER as selfish as Kobe. Jordan never kept the ball from his team mates because HE wanted to score 81 points! It was their TEAM that won the finals. The Celtics play like a team and they deserve to go all the way.

Pennjamin Bannekar June 3, 2008 at 12:36 PM

TEAM??? lol ok.. take Jordan off of the Chicago Bulls championship teams in the 90s and subtract 6 championships. And you cant say that aint true cuz what happened when he was retired in 94???

So take Kobe off of the Lakers and see where they are... I rest my case

t baby June 3, 2008 at 12:51 PM

PLEASE don't just let the case rest... BURY it! You're missing my point... I agree, if Jordan wasn't on the Bulls, they probably wouldn't have gone as far as they did... and I agree if you take Kobe away from the Lakers, what would you be left with? BUT, the Bulls were so successful BECAUSE they used team work. They worked and played as a team, unlike where you have Kobe trying to be a one-man-band! The CelticS are way more deserving of the title than the Laker. Tell Kobe to sit back or play one-on-one...

Pennjamin Bannekar June 3, 2008 at 1:05 PM

So by your logic... if the Lakers win then they will have good TEAMWORK b/c as great as Kobe is alone, he can't beat the Celtics by himself. And if the Lakers win that means Kobe used his teammates, right?? Just face it, Kobe is not the same Kobe of old. He is still an assassin but he uses his team now.

Unknown June 3, 2008 at 3:09 PM

Its gotta be LA hands down. Kobe is the closest we will ever see to Mike, and that my friends, is all it takes. Now imagine if Bynum come back healthy and a better player next year.... LA bout to run off another 3 or 4 rings
